Death Death stalks us all, like a shadow in the sun. like the rust on a chain link. Like the corrosion around a sink. Why did it happen to you before me? Why did I have to hear and see? I am diminished without you here. I am lost without you near. Death has you, you dine on pomegranates while your body sleeps in dust. your inner fire is ashes, and your inner steel is rust. And I have no staff to lean on. Only a stone to talk to under the sun. Dreaming of when I'll sleep beside you. Wondering when the night will take me too.
