Parallels between the Falangists and the American Right wing
There are major similarities between the American Hard right and 30s Falangist Parties in Spain. In my next series of posts I'll be referring to the 26 point Program of the Falange Party, it's meaning, and comparing it to the current platforms of the hard right here and in other countries. It is hard not to see the similarities and contrasts. The Falange 26 point program, Hitlers Nazi Program, all have points of similarity. This is obvious to almost anyone who looks at them, except for those trying to gaslight the subject.

Right Wing trying to Gaslight the Past Right
People like Dinesh D'Souza misrepresent such planks. They do so for a number of reasons.
- To convince recruitment targets that they are patriotic, righteous and not anything like past fascists.
- To claim that past fascists were mere leftists and so they are somehow doing something different.
- To confuse people trying to resist them.
Some of the program, indeed sounded like what any party would promote. During the 30s the vast masses were concerned with employment, eating, health-care and survival. Anyone trying to get elected had to have a program for dealing with these things. Moreover freebooting capitalism had failed massively, so very few people were willing to defend capitalism. Fascism posed as a third way, between capitalism and socialism. On the stump or while fighting, they had slogans that articulated an ideal future state.
Myth and Propaganda
Fascist documents are very different documents from the kinds of planks a traditional party like the Democrats, or the pre-Trump Republicans, for the simple reason that they are tools of myth and propaganda, are authoritarian, revolutionary and seeking to impose their “ideological doctrines and Practical lies” and is not rational in the same way more rationalist liberal/conservative/progressive ideologies are. I the interest of keeping it simple stupid. This post lists the elements of the Falang Plank that I'll be referencing in other posts.

A. Hispanidad: NATION –UNITY –EMPIRE
- Hispanidad: Individual, group, and class interests must inexorably give way to the Collective Identity of "Hispanidad"
- One Nation: Spanish Destiny demands that any form of local identity be abolished.
- Imperialism: Spain Must Once again be an Empire that should incorporates all Spanish or Portuguese speaking Colonies
- Militarization: Spain must become a Militarized Nation to achieve these goals
- Naval & Air Power: Spain must be a Maritime, Sea and Air Power.
- Totalitarianism: The Falange is a “Totalitarian” movement, when in power all will participate through their “family, municipal, and syndical roles.”

- Syndicalism: We shall organize Spanish society corporatively through a system of vertical syndicates for the various field of production, all working toward national economic unity.

- National Syndicalism to eliminate class struggle, anarchy & stop “selfish interests from abusing others”
- Better the Conditions of the People
- Recognize Private Property & protect it from “finance capital, speculators, and money lenders.”
- Nationalize Banks and Public Utilities
- “Right to Work” Support those who can't work.
- “Duty to work” All must perform a useful function, no drones will be tolerated.
- Demand to raise the standards of the countryside through reforms.
- Assuring a minimum remuneration to all agricultural producers
- Restore renumerations “paid to the cities for intellectual and commercial services.”
- Using a “national system of agricultural credit which will lend money to farmers at low interest against the guarantee of their property and crops”
- while “redeeming them from usury and local tyrants
- Farmer and shepherd education in improved land use
- Providing Land use and Marketing support
- Tariff protections
- Reclamation and land redistribution
- Encourage Family Farms and Worker syndicalization.
