Yesterday I made the quip that Trump doesn't want a US Style DA. He doesn't want Sessions!
#Trumpenführer wants Chaika!
With the revelations that Natalia Veselnitskaya and other Russians who met with The Trump campaign on June 9th 2016 were working as proxies for Yuri Chaika. You should have heard a mike drop. But you didn't. That was bad enough but then Trump goes to the G20 and has a two hour meeting and a one hour meeting with Putin. Witnesses describe them as having a merry time. That all was worse.
Well today he confirmed that that is what he wants! He spent the evening yesterday criticizing Jeff Sessions for doing his job and for not ending investigations into him, like he was hired to do! Trump wants a General Prosecutor, who will persecute and lock up his enemies, and never, never, look into corruption inside his administration!
Randi Rhodes says he's a schmuck, чмо, she used a different translation, but it's all the same. I'd use stronger language to talk about #Trumpenführer!
Well Who is Chaika???
The New York Times reported yesterday that:
"WASHINGTON — President Trump said on Wednesday that he never would have appointed Attorney General Jeff Sessions had he known Mr. Sessions would recuse himself from overseeing the Russia investigation that has dogged his presidency, calling the decision “very unfair to the president.” [NY Times]
Like I said, he's mad at Sessions for not stopping the Comey investigation from day one!
Trump went on to say:
“Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else,” Mr. Trump said. [NY Times]
That in itself would have been criminal!
Trump, as usual, projects his own issues on those who might be investigating him:
"Mr. Trump said Mr. Mueller was running an office rife with conflicts of interest and warned investigators against delving into matters too far afield from Russia." [NY Times]
Russian Style Justice
As my friends remind me, we have two sets of justice now. One for minorities and another for privileged folks. But Trump looks towards Russian Style Justice! The Russians don't play around. After Sergei Magnitsky started mucking around into Russian Mob Money laundering, it was revealed that the Russian Mob=the Government. And he was arrested.
"After a 37-year old lawyer Sergei Magnitsky testified against Russian Interior Ministry officers for their role in embezzling $230 million from the state, he was arrested and placed in pre-trial detention by those same officers he accused of crimes. In an attempt to force Magnitsky to withdraw his testimony, these officers intentionally tortured and ultimately murdered him" [Torture and Death]
In Russian style "managed democracy" reporters, lawyers or prosecutors who do their jobs are more likely to be murdered or arrested than to stop corruption. The irony of this is that Vladimir Putin got to power by pretending to be a reformer and going after the oligarchs who were dominating Russia when he got started. He either tamed, killed or locked up every Oligarch in Russia. Then he started on Press and the legal profession.
And by the way, they recently put the 2 year dead Magnitsky on trial for his own murder. Sounds like what the USA regularly does for police officer executions.
Chaika was his ally. One term for people like Chaika is "Flying monkey." If we don't stop this now, we'll wind up with the same system.
